The whole list of 13 “unhealthy” foods—2025

Don’t be shocked if some foods don’t show up on our screens before the 9 o’clock watershed because the UK government recently ordered a ban on their promotion.

NHS data revealed that 23.7 percent of youngsters have teeth damage due to excessive sugar consumption, and 9.2 percent of reception-aged children were fat, according to a government press release.

According to the BBC, the UK government has decided to prohibit the promotion of several foods that are considered “less healthy” in an effort to assist kids make better decisions. The restriction will go into effect in October of next year.

Morning food

According to the BBC, this category includes a variety of foods that we typically eat for breakfast, such as croissants, pain au chocolat, and other pastries, but it also includes things like scones, crumpets, hot cross buns, brioches, fruit loaves, and pancakes.

Cereal

It turns out that cereals like granola, muesli, and ready-to-eat cereals are not as healthful as you may think.

It’s a sad day when you can’t watch the newest advertisements for ice cream and its substitutes, but that’s where we are right now.

The BBC claims that frosting is immune from the prohibition, but there will be no more sponge cakes, donuts, éclairs, or anything else on our televisions.

Confectionery

Popcorn, candy, and even protein bars or other high-protein snacks fall under this category.

Biscuit and bars

This also applies to shortbread, covered chocolate biscuits, cereal bars, nut and seed bars, and ice cream wafers.

Savoury snacks

Nonetheless, crackers, rice cakes, tortilla chips, and Bombay spice mixes are more products that fall into the savory category.

Desserts

For you and me, it means pies, tarts, flans, cheesecake, rice pudding, rice pudding, crumbles, meringues, custards, trifles, or Christmas puddings.
